Christmas! B’ah, humbug

And so the adventure begins…
KKP will be performing a brand new adaption of Charles Dickens, A Christmas Carol. This Christmas we’re bringing Scrooge to Poland!
First step – adapt it! Which means two rather interesting challenges. The first is language. A Christmas Carol was published in 1843, so the language is archaic; and I’d like to use it, so how can we make it understandable? And entertaining?
The second challenge is length. There are just under 27,000 words and I’ll need to get it down to around 13,000. And keep its rich language and meaning. (As a guide, Much Ado About Nothing, our modern day Shakespeare play is 13,700 words and runs for 1hr45m.)
So, Watson! The game is afoot!
Onwards and upwards!
